After D-Day, they fought with the French Resistance. This week, I received an email from, Robert Hamsely of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, a former Captain with the US 15th Cavalary who fought alongside Lucien and Raymond. They rescued the people of a small village in Brittany who were about to be executed by the Nazis for harbouring members of the Resistance. Captain Hamsley and his five tanks were able to help Lucien, Raymond and their colleagues defeat the Germans without a loss of life to the townspeople. When Captain Hamsely read about my book on-line, he wrote me to see if I could put him in touch with any of Lucien's or Raymond's surviving relatives. Can anybody help me with this? His father was Eugene Dumas, Mother Margaret Trombley, not Joseph and Jane Dumas's son. The Henry you see on the census was Emory Dumas, not Henry.
